A mailman notices an unusual piece of mail from the US Navy Norfolk, VA A mailman goes on his usual route to pick up the mail from the Navy base. He briefly glances over all the letters to make sure they have the proper postage. One piece of mail stuck out in his mind for a second as it has a blue Dharmachara Buddhist wheel symbol on it. Thinking nothing more of it he puts all of the letters in his bag. When he gets back to his office, the letter goes in a big bin with all of the other out-going mail. He thinks nothing of it, and finishes his day. A few days later, he delivers the exact same letter to the same naval base that he picked it up from. He glances at the mailing address and observes that it is indeed the same as the return address. Anyone can make a mistake, so the mailman puts the letter in the mailbox so that the customer can readdress it for its proper recipient. He thinks nothing of it and finishes his day. The next day, the mailman sees the same exact letter at the naval base. He carefully examines the letter - nothing changed, but with a new stamp on it. The mailman is perplexed, and thinking to save the customer both time and money, decides to question the Naval Office staff. The security officer makes a phone call. A few minutes later a female Buddhist monk, wearing glasses, dressed in traditional garb wearing a Navy Chaplain pin approaches. “Pardon me, Ma'am” the mailman says, “but you seem to be trying to mail this letter again, and without any changes to the address, it’s only going to end up back at your station in a few days.” “Ah, my letter. Thank you so much for mailing it the other day, it was greatly appreciated. Please do so again” replies the Buddhist monk. “But Ma'am,” says mailman, “you will only waste a stamp, and this letter will be re-delivered to your base a few days from now.” She nods, "Please follow me to seek enlightenment." She gestures to the door she came in. The mailman grabs a visitor badge from the bin and signs in. He follows the monk through the shipyard. He notices there is the same blue Dharmachara Buddhist Pennant flying over the submarine USS New Mexico, above the United States Flag. The monk leads them over to that boat. The Buddhist monk smiles, "Please remove your shoes. While the pennant is flying this submarine is considered a Buddhist temple giving religious services. You have permission to come aboard." The mailman does so and steps aboard. They both go down the hatch. The monk leads the mailman to a small room where there is extra traditional garbs about and a small Buddihst statue. She gestures to the garbs. The mailman changes into a traditional garb. The monk gestures to some pillows and they begin meditation. Eventually the mailman reaches enlightenment. He remarks, "Ahh... reposting in this sub is the best way to get karma."
