Washing cars One day, little Jimmy was walking home from school when something catches his eye. Peering into a shop window he saw a brand new red bicycle. ""Wow,"" he thought to himself, ""that sure is a great looking bike but neither my parents or I can afford it!"". Jimmy stares at it in admiration for a few minutes before carrying on his journey home. Over dinner, he mentions this bicycle to his parents and how he desires to one day buy it for himself. His parents being the type to teach their children how to earn something rather than be given something suggest that he does some work around the neighbourhood such as cutting lawns, washing cars, washing windows or whatever needs doing. Jimmy gets excited at the prospect of having his first paid job at the tender age of just 9 years old! That night, Jimmy was awake for hours in bed planning on what to do, and decides to hit the street to the back of his house as he knew there were some wealthy residents living there. That Saturday, he woke up early refreshed and excited for his first day of work! Taking a bucket and sponge with him, he decides to offer to wash cars. The first house he goes to belongs to an elderly chap who made his fortune in the sports business and enjoys a healthy lifestyle. His lawn is well kept but his car is a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow which is covered in dust and road crap so Jimmy goes up to the door, stands on his tip-toes and rings the doorbell. The elderly gentleman answers the door and exclaims ""Jimmy! How lovely to see you, how're your parents keeping?"". Jimmy tells of how his mother is still teaching and how his father is currently looking for work but are doing alright all the same. He asks the gentleman whether he'd be willing to pay Jimmy to wash his car for him, to which he agrees and will pay more if the inside is cleaned as well. Jimmy duly cleans the vehicle on the outside and starts on the interior, vacuuming the mats, polishing the dashboard, conditions the plush leather seats...The whole works. Once Jimmy's done with the passenger area, he opens the boot in order to vacuum, to find a golf bag inside. Coming from a poor background and never having seen something like this before, he races to the house door and calls for the owner. Worried something had happened the old man rushes out and asks what the problem is. ""Nothing's wrong sir,"" Jimmy started ""but I wondered if you could tell me what that is in your boot! I've never seen those...Things before, what do they do?"". Relieved that everything was well, he walks with Jimmy to the back of the car and heaves the golf bag out. ""This here,"" says the gentleman ""is a golf club. It's a sport played on a golf course where you have to get round with the fewest times hitting your golf ball"". He then unzips one of the pockets in the golf bag and pulls out a number of oddments, pitch markers, golf balls, pencils and a whole load of other trinkets. He explains them all to Jimmy who gets very excited about hearing about it. Jimmy suddenly points at the golf tees and asks ""Sir, sir, what are those for?"" The man chuckles and says ""Those, my dear boy, are for resting your balls on when you're driving!"". Jimmy pauses for a second then says ""Wow sir, Rolls-Royce really do think of everything!""
