Once upon a time in ancient Rome... ...There lived 3 very important politicians. Brutus was a schemer, and a very ambitious man. No one trusted him, but everyone worked with him. Julius Caesar was unpopular with the politicians of Rome, but the people loved him. Julius was a consul of Rome. Marc Antony was the third politician in question, and he was just the sort of guy that everybody liked. So Julius Caesar was running once again for consul of Rome, and he experienced a sudden drop in the polls. Seeing that he was falling out of favor, he went to his friend Marc Antony. ""Marc Antony,"" he said, ""How about you run for the other consul seat, and tell people we are running together, on the same ticket."" So Marc Antony, excited to become consul, agreed. Then, on March 14, Brutus approached Marc Antony and said, ""Listen, buddy, you can't run on the same ticket as Julius. Just drop out of the race now, and trust me, you'll be better off."" But Marc Antony said, ""No, I'm sticking with Caesar."" Brutus said, ""Ok, fine, but you will regret this."" The next day Julius Caesar enters a room full of roman politicians to try to gather support for his campaign, and he is brutally murdered by them. The conspirators agree that they have to take control of Rome, and that they first have to eliminate anyone who supported Julius Caesar. So, of course, Marc Antony is the first to go. Marc Antony is sentenced to death by the new Roman government. He is brought up in front of a crowd of people, his head is shoved upon the block, the executioner raises his axe and chops off Marc Antony's head. Brutus comes up to the block. He grabs the head of his old friend and holds it up for all the people to see. ""People of Rome,"" He says, pointing to the head he was holding, ""Let this be a lesson to all dissenters!"" ""Never run with Caesars.""
