Pleading to the r/jokes community. Can we please stop all the ""this is an old joke"" comments? I mean, every joke that makes it to the front page has the obligatory ""this is an old joke"", ""I've heard this before"" comment. Unless the OP literally made the joke up themselves, then *every* joke on here has been heard before. My internal response to those comments is always ""NO SHIT."" Yes, some are more obscure than others, some are older than others, but the point of a joke subreddit is to share... JOKES. Old jokes, new jokes, well-known jokes, and original jokes. And just remember, there are a lot of young people on Reddit now. Just because you remember hearing the joke 15 years ago from your grandpappy, doesn't mean the 14 year old reading it now has. Oh, and just a reminder: there is this really nifty upvote/downvote system that Reddit has to help decide what a community is interested in. If you still really want to be a stick in the mud, then downvote. It's better than having to read your debby downer comments all the time. On that note: What do you call a boomerang that doesn't work? A stick.
